Newland NVH220 and NVH220B Barcode Scanners - Industrial DPM and High-Density Scanning, Corded or Bluetooth

The Newland NVH220 series is a handheld industrial barcode scanner built to read the codes everyday scanners struggle with, including laser-etched and dot-peened DPM marks, high-density barcodes, and low-contrast labels. Available as the corded NVH220 or the Bluetooth NVH220B, the series is built for industrial environments where parts are marked directly and a missed read holds up the line.

Built for DPM and High-Density Codes

Both models pair a 1280 x 800 CMOS image sensor with an upgraded dual-core platform and Newland's latest decoding engine, lifting success rates on complex and DPM barcodes. Red and blue direct illumination plus white diffuse illumination adapts to reflective surfaces, curved shapes, and varied barcode colors, while AI barcode positioning helps pull reads from low-contrast marks. A 650 nm crosshair laser keeps aiming precise.

Precise capture for demanding scan work:

  • Reads 1D and 2D symbologies including QR Code, Micro QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, and GS1-128
  • Resolves 1D codes down to 1.85 mil and 2D codes down to 3 mil
  • Reads 20 mil Code39 from 50 mm to 440 mm (1.97 in to 17.32 in)
  • 42 x 28 degree field of view with full 360 degree roll and up to 50 degrees of pitch and skew
  • Optional OCR on the NVH220B

Corded or Wireless Connectivity

The NVH220 connects over USB, RS-232, or Ethernet, with protocol support for TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and MELSEC/SLMP for direct connection to industrial networks. The NVH220B uses low-latency, interference-resistant Bluetooth with a range of up to 150 m (492 ft) line of sight, and connects to the host over USB or RS-232.

All-Shift Battery

The NVH220B carries a removable 2900 mAh battery rated for 17+ hours of continuous use and up to 60,000 scans per charge, with a 3-hour charge time. Because the battery is removable, a spare keeps the scanner working instead of waiting on the charger.

Built to Stay in Service

Both scanners are IP64 sealed and rated for repeated 1.8 m (5.91 ft) drops, with an operating range of -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F) and ESD protection of 16 kV air and 8 kV direct. An optional ESD rubber boot is available for each model, and both the NVH220 and NVH220B carry a 3-year standard warranty.
